Global Citizen SW was established in Cornwall UK in 2001, inspired by the desire to
create a more equal and just world through empowering young people to take
 positive actions.

Main Aims

to create positive and creative social or environmental
 change in their local communities.
  2. To educate about human rights and sustainable development in
isolated rural communities in the south west of England.
  3. To promote issues of cultural diversity, good race relations,
tolerance and ecological awareness
  4. To continue to create friendship links with young people

Through delivering human rights ,sustainable development and practical garden education,
Global Citizen SW works to empower young people to realize
global interdependency and their own responsibilities as global citizens.

The project uses creative teaching methods; including film,
theatre skills and first hand case studies to equip young people with
the tools and abilities to create positive changeswithin their
own lives and lives of local and international communities.

For the past 5 years, the project has been working with young people
in Cornwall, India, Ethiopia and Brazil (see links pages).

The project uses first hand experience, film footage and photos
from these locations to illustrate workshops.

The project maintains close links with community projects in these
locations, and a major aim of the project is to continue to
build relations between young people from across the globe.

Workshops promote a practical ways to effect positive change,
including campaign and lobbying skills, actions for
 ecological living and gardening skills
