
Jodie Tellam is the founding member of Global Citizen SW. Ever since her graduation in social science, Jodie has been working with community youth projects; In the UK she has co-ordinated sustainability education programmes, asylum seeker support networks ,community permaculture gardens and has been working freelance in development education with young people for many years and also for Peace Child Int.,UNICEF and the YMCA In Brazil she has worked with several grassroot organisations including the Institute of Dry Land Permaculture and Big Wheels Mountainboard Association, both of which address the problems of social destitution.
In India she has volunteered in the Tibetan community-in -exile, working closely with human rights groups and refugees. In Delhi she volunteerred for Global March Against Child Labour meeting x-child labourers and designing a workshop mannual of co-operative games to use in child labour communitties In Ethiopia she volunteered to help establish shelter for vulnerable street kids for The Kindu Trust.
Using information and experiences collected from this work and inspired by a deep motivation to raise awareness of disparities in the world, Jodie returned to southwest England to share her experiences with young people. Her main objective has always been to empower the youth to design and implement positive changes in their own lives and their communities, as well establish international links between young people in different parts of the world
