Global Citizen SW has 7 years experience in delivering high quality educational workshops. We use a mixture of drama, physical theatre, forum theatre, film/photography and discussion to deliver our workshops in a fun, memorable and effective way. Please see below for some of our achievements.

1.Sustainable garden design,practical gardening skills and permaculture training - local to global focus
NOTES ON WORKSHOPS
- -All workshops can be adapted for key stage 1- 4
- -All workshops are designed in relation to the current citizenship curriculum , usually in 40-60minute sessions
- -Assembly presentations also suggested for whole year groups as an introduction to the issue before the workshop
- -All workshops are adaptable for any year group, ability and timescale and follow-up teachers notes are available.

- -All workshops aim to empower students to realise the positive contribution they can make to society, both locally and globally.-Each workshop topic is available as a one off session or as an entire programme of 5 workshops. This allows students to benefit from a thorough understanding of the issues and empowers them to initiate or complete a campaign/project.
- KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
- The empowerment of young people to become aware and understand key global issues and realise their responsibilities as global citizens through the implementation of local awareness raising projects
- -Examples of awareness raising projects include the creation of a school mural about child labour, school play performed to parents about asylum seekers, collecting signitures supporting fair trade and the abolition of child labour
- -Providing a valuable insight into other cultures and therefore promoting cultural tolerance and good race relations in rural communities inthe SW of England.
- -Increased awareness of human rights and sustainable development issues within the local communities- (as information and press releases about the young peoples campaigns and activities influences families and general public)
- -The establishment of productive gardens and the development of a practical understanding of the basic natural world and food production
- -Young peoples' local campaigning has led to many more shops district councils and even some schools, supplying fair trade goods in Cornwall
- -As a result of the projects working along side local schools and their students- vegetable plots have been renovated, beaches cleaned and trees planted
- -Friendship Links between young people in Penzance and Addis Ababa Ethiopia / Torpoint and Bangalore, India- have been firmly established- serving as an invaluable global insight for all involved.
